Mark Jewell moved to Larches, Ashton from London, after graduating over 20 years ago.

He has described a call by a Conservative-leaning think tank for people in the North to pack their bags and move to the South as appalling.

Mark said, "Whilst the Conservatives appear to be abandoning Northern Cities, it is the Liberal Democrats who are working to make Preston better. I have no intention of moving back down South. Preston is a great place to live and work.

Mark added, "In urban Preston, the battle is between the Liberal Democrats and Labour at at the next General Election. Everyone know the Conservatives cannot win here".
